Testimonials
My hard drive containing over 20,000+ photos was unusable. I was considering spending $3000 using a data recovery service/ For under $100.00 I was able to recover most of my applications. Peter Nesci.
New York Drive Recovery - Hard Drive Recovery
Hard Drive Recovery

New York Drive Recovery is a leading provider of recovery solutions for:

  • all types of interfaces: IDE(Integrated Drive Electronics), EIDE (Enhanced IDE), SATA (Serial ATA), SCSI (Small Computer System Interface), SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) and others
  • all hard drive combinations: RAID, Matrix or single drives
  • any hard drive manufacturer

Hard Drive Data Loss Can Be Caused by

  • a logical failure - the hard drive works, but some files and folders cannot be accessed due to a logical failure, such as lost partition, accidental reformatting, file deletion or file duplication.
  • a physical failure (also known as mechanical failure) - the hard drive is not spinning which might be due to the heads sticking together, logic board failure, etc.

The Common Hard Drive Failures Can Be Classified as:

  • Physical Media Damage - this type of failure happens when a head has physical contact with platter surface. During that contact head(s) usually digs into the platter, removing a chunk of the media; as the platter spins, debris is scattered which causes read errors.
  • Electronic Failure - electrical circuits fail on a regular basis. This type of failure is almost impossible to predict and can happen at any time for numerous reasons. For instance, extensive heat can “fry” the chips or electronic components leading to a hard drive failure. An electronic failure can also be caused by an original manufacturer’s error.
  • Media Corruption - this type of damage might affect the magnetic information stored on media. It can influence server’s and drive’s program settings that are required for heads positioning and storage of user data on a hard drive.
  • Internal Mechanical Failure - any moving component can fail, making data stored on a hard drive inaccessible.
  • Intermittent Failure - happens when a hard drive’s components perform unpredictably and unreliably. Intermittent failure can also come as a result of a gradual degradation of internal parts.
